Over
the past 19 years Qili has founded and sold four high tech companies.
He also has been Chief Engineer and architect for three Silicon Valley
startups.
- He was Co-founder of Prisma Software which was sold
to Borland in 1993.
- Qili was recruited in 1995 by Philippe Kahn to be the Chief Engineer
and Chief Software Architect of his new startup: Starfish Software.
Philippe later sold Starfish to Motorola. Qili
has two patents related to Starfish’s proprietary technologies.
- Qili joined Agile Software in October 1997 as their
Client Architect. He also designed the server-level parametric
search technology for their industry leading PLM system.
- In 1998, he co-founded ezSharing which was purchased
in 2000 by a major public Internet company

About Qili
- In March 2000, Qili co-founded HostMind Technology to develop a wireless information delivery platform. He was the President and Chief Software Architect of the company. In May 2001, Qili helped Hostmind establish Hostmind’s China Development Center in Suzhou, China.
- In August 2001, Qili founded Jiexun Technology in China, This company was sold in May 2002 to Agile Software and was renamed Agile Software (China) Ltd. Qili was retained by Agile to further develop the company and over the next few years, he recruited, trained and managed 100+ software engineers.
- In March 2003, Qili co-founded Suzsoft Co. Ltd. which became one of the top software outsourcing firms in China. Suzsoft was selected as one of the top 100 Global Service Providers in 2007, and was selected by Boeing, among their short list of 3, to be Boeing’s first IT service provider in China. He saw the company grow from 5 employees to over 300 before it was sold to Boston-based Darwin Partners in May 2006. Darwin/Suzsoft is planning for an IPO as early as 2008.
- In August 2007, Qili founded Taihoo Technologies doing software outsourcing and web conference technology development in China. The company quickly grew to 100 people and became a very specialized software outsourcing firm with focus on key software technology and R&D capabilities. Exigen Services acquired Taihoo Technologies in April 2009.
In 2006, Qili was selected as one of the top 10 high-tech entrepreneurs of the year in Suzhou, China. He also served as a committee member for the China Software Outsourcing organization in Suzhou and was a Senior Technology Advisor to both the Governor and the Mayor of Suzhou. Because of Qili’s contribution to the development of the China’s software industry, Chinese President, Hu Jintao, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, and Chinese First Vice Premier, Wu Yi visited his company in 2004. Qili currently resides in San Jose, California.
